The Annual Media Conference (AMC) 2024 stands as a pinnacle event hosted by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), poised to showcase Malaysia’s investment achievements in the manufacturing, services, and primary sectors for 2023.
Embracing the forward momentum of previous years, which attracted 150 attendees for the on-site experience, AMC 2024 continues the tradition of excellence and inclusivity.
The highlight of AMC 2024 is the much-anticipated announcement by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI). Under the guiding theme of ‘Advancing Responsible Investments,’ the Minister will unveil Malaysia’s Investment Performance in various economic sectors for the year 2023.
Beyond the headline figures and trends, AMC 2024 will shine a light on Quality Projects that embody the spirit of responsible investments. These showcases will provide tangible examples of how strategic investment decisions are paving the way for a sustainable economic future in Malaysia.
Malaysia Resilient Ascent – Securing Historic RM329.5 Billion in Investments, Generating Close to 130,000 Jobs in 2023
Kuala Lumpur, 29 February 2024 – Amidst a backdrop of anticipated global economic challenges in 2023, including persistently high core inflation, Malaysia’s economy defied expectations with a significant surge. Achieving RM329.5 billion in approved investments across the manufacturing, services, and primary sectors, the nation’s economy not only thrived but showcased the effectiveness of its pro-business and growth-oriented policies. This remarkable performance, marked by a 23.0% increase over last year’s approved investments, reaffirms Malaysia’s position as a globally attractive investment destination.
The Malaysia Investment Performance Report by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) is an annual review of approved investments in three (3) main sectors of the economy. The report provides a brief overview of Malaysia’s industry sectors and some services sub-sectors, including foreign and domestic investment data. There are additional information on the Government’s and MIDA’s effort in attracting investments to Malaysia.
