Serba Dinamik to launch D’Virtual Park

10 Feb 2020

Serba Dinamik Group Bhd plans to launch D’Virtual Park, Malaysia’s first virtual reality theme park which uses hologram technology in March this year.

Group MD/group chief executive director Datuk Dr Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah said the soft launch for the park, located in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, is expected to be held in the first week of March.

“The park is almost ready. We have been working with quite a number of institutions and we are also in contact with some tourism agencies as well as regulators,” he told Bernama recently.

Mohd Abdul Karim said the park is expected to attract 500,000 visitors within the first year of its opening. The company had invested RM13 million to develop the D’Virtual Park — RM8 million for its development and RM5 million in its collaboration with Startup Borneo.

He said the collaboration with Startup Borneo will provide a huge networking opportunity for start-ups in the digital technology segment.

To be housed in nine blocks of three-storey buildings, the D’Virtual theme park would feature seven main attractions, including free-roam virtual tours, thrill rides, as well as a battleground.

Mohd Abdul Karim said the park also customises its game offerings so that it can be enjoyed by all players, regardless of their skill set levels.

“Our games are designed to optimise individual preferences. We are one of the pioneer virtual parks that give the audience the chance to experience customised hologram theatre show, offering the most revolutionary form of cinematic experience,” he said.

He added that the theme park is set to play an important role in digital technology to support the government’s agenda in promoting the digital economy and the IR4.0.
