NS Corp, Havelsan collaborate for NS Aerospace Valley and UVV development

Negeri Sembilan’s investment arm NS Corporation has inked a memorandum of collaboration (MoC) with Turkey-based software and hardware provider Havelsan for the development of NS Aerospace Valley and Unmanned Vehicle Valley (UVV) in the state.

NS Corp chairman Datuk Dr Mohamad Rafie Ab Malek said both parties will collaborate for the development of aerospace component manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) as well as skilled workforce development and technology transfer.

“Havelsan has expertise in software development in the aerospace industry, so we will work together in that area in addition to the development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

“They also have expertise in flight simulators which, at the same time, helps us develop the local aero space industry,” he told Bernama after the signing of the MoC at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2022 here today.

Mohamad Rafie said the high demand for new aircraft in the Asian region would boost the potential to create new aerospace hubs in Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 (MVV2.0).

Negeri Sembilan state government, through NS Corp, has prepared an economic development blueprint that has been outlined in the MVV2.0 Comprehensive Development Plan, which spans a 25-year development period covering approximately 15,378 hectares.

It focuses on four economic drivers which are high technology manufacturing, wellness tourism, skill-based education and research, and specialised services.
