Scam Alert

Beware of fraudulent communication claiming to be from MIDA. These scams aim to mislead the public. MIDA takes these matters seriously and has reported them to the relevant authorities. When in doubt, contact MIDA’s Corporate Communications Division at +603-2267 3633 for clarification.

A. Fraudulent of Telegram Account

MIDA has discovered fraudulent social media accounts using its name for scams.

 

MIDA kindly reminds you against sharing personal banking information or conducting transactions on Telegram or other social media platforms.

 

MIDA does not own a Telegram account and will never request bank transactions through social media, and is not responsible for any losses related to scam websites or Telegram accounts.

 

MIDA has reported the issue to the authorities.

B. Fraudulent MIDA website

MIDA has discovered a scam website that mimics its official site, replacing MIDA’s name with ‘Malaysian Foreign Procurement Agency’ (MFPA).

MIDA once again warns the public that it doesn’t have any affiliation with MFPA.

MIDA is not responsible for any losses related to the scam website and has reported the issue to the authorities.

C. Non-Involvement in the Publication ‘The Showcase of Malaysian Industries Directory’ & ‘Malaysian Industries Authoritative Directory’

MIDA would like to clarify that it has no connection or involvement with the publications ‘The Showcase of Malaysian Industries Directory’ and ‘Malaysian Industries Authorities Directory’.

If there are any doubts or the need for clarification, individuals can contact MIDA’s Corporate Communications Division at +603-2267 3633.

D. Scams purporting to come from individuals pretending to be MIDA Officers

MIDA is aware of scams involving individuals falsely claiming to be MIDA Officers.

If anyone receives suspicious communication, they should notify MIDA.

The public is advised to take precautions in such situations.

E. Scams purporting from an individual pretending to be MIDA Personnel

MIDA is aware of the scam where an individual named Michelle Anderson falsely poses as a MIDA employee.

MIDA would like to clarify that Michelle Anderson is not affiliated with MIDA and urge anyone receiving correspondence from her to notify MIDA.
