Dutch Lady building new dairy hub
10 Dec 2021
Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd (DLMI) foresees that its new dairy manufacturing hub in Techpark, Bandar Enstek, Negri Sembilan will support the group’s ambitious plans for Malaysia.
“The hub, which has commenced construction recently, is a testament to DLMI’s confidence in the country’s economy,” the company said in a statement.
Managing director Ramjeet Kaur Virik (pic) said this would significantly increase the production of high-quality milk in line with the government’s national health agenda of achieving better health and nutritional status for Malaysians, especially the younger generation.
“We are demonstrating our commitment to our purpose of ‘nourishing our nation’ and we realise the importance of investing in the future as food security in the post-pandemic era will be even more important for Malaysia,” she said.
According to Ramjeet, the project is funded from internal resources, including the recent land sale of DLMI’s existing factory in Petaling Jaya for RM200mil, of which the monies in its entirety will go towards the construction of the new hub.
DMLI said the manufacturing hub would create a collaborative environment that would facilitate people upskilling and capability-building.
