LKL to export US$19 mln nitrile examination gloves to China

Medical equipment manufacturer LKL International Bhd’s unit, LKL Advance Metaltech Sdn Bhd, has secured a US$19 million (about RM78.5 million) sales contract to supply nitrile examination gloves to a China-based company.
In a statement today, LKL International said the sales contract win represented not only its first export contract to China but also its maiden venture into the distribution of examination gloves to the medical and healthcare sector.
LKL International managing director Lim Kon Lian said the group would continue to broaden its product portfolio which currently encompasses the manufacturing of medical beds and peripherals, and distribution of personal protective equipment, as well as other medical peripherals and devices.
“This major sales contract award highlights our growing brand recognition as a trusted supplier of quality medical/healthcare equipment to the global markets.
“This contract would boost our export contributions from Asian markets and significantly enhance our performance for the financial year ending April 30, 2021 (FY21). Thus, this major development demonstrates the benefits of expanding our exports network to play a greater role in supplying medical/healthcare equipment and related products to all regions,” he said.
In FY20, LKL International’s revenue contribution from exports stood at RM9.0 million or 16.5 per cent of total group revenue, up from RM6.6 million worth of exports in the preceding financial year.
