Petronas Gas extends steam supply to Japan-owned Polyplastics

Petronas Gas Bhd (PGB) has extended its steam supply to Japanese-owned Polyplastics Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd (PAP), the new business secured following an agreement sealed last year.

In a statement today, PGB managing director/chief executive officer Kamal Bahrin Ahmad said PGB’s excellent track record in supply reliability to existing customers as well as its competitive price had made this long-term partnership possible.

He said the company aimed to be the best solutions partner to its customers while continuing to sustain good operational performance at all its assets nationwide.

Meanwhile, PAP managing director Yoshimitsu Shirai said, “We are glad to receive the first steam supply from the infrastructure owner, PGB, which signifies a new phase in our journey towards serving our customers.”

In April 2019, both PGB and PAP entered into two separate long-term sales and purchase agreements for the new supply of steam and extension of existing electricity supply between the two parties.
